NBC News reported that this facility (per FD) has had at least two other incidents. Reportedly produces pool chemicals at this plant. FD doesn’t yet know what chemicals are involved-only that it’s water reactive. USEPA is doing air quality monitoring.

My son (MS, PhD & now publishing at USEPA) said - if no policies at institution - 1) write the paper & then ask that they look at the draft - & in some written form give their OK. Suggest either co-author or a hardy acknowledgement. Their only work is review & approval. He sympathizes w/ you.

I’m puzzled how this passed peer review. Glyphosate toxicology is intricate, and while issues exist, where are the citations from EFSA, ECHA, USEPA, NTP, and others supporting registration? Brandoini’s Law?- necessitating detailed context for individual experiments. doi.org/10.3389/ftox.2024.1474792

It's further south in Punta Gorda but yeah

A sign on a water fountain warning potential users : use water at your own risk. The water from this well exceeds the maximum contaminate levels of radioactivity as determined by the United States environmental protection agency ( usepa) under the sage drinking water act
For information regarding water quality please contact the Florida department of health in Charlotte county.

USEPA finally bans DCPA (a very dangerous pesticide) from all agricultural uses. It had been banned in the E.U. for years. Crucifers were mostly contaminated by its use. Big deal for farm workers. Gift article. wapo.st/3AuK03O

Again, the entities and corporations with the most lawyers and money win. One interesting feature of federal rulemaking is that it is really hard. The USEPA hasn't updated architectural coatings VOC regulations since 1997. That has led to 19 states adopting their own rules. bsky.app/profile/chri...

Despite the name, "Airnow" from the EPA isn't meant to tell you immediate on the ground conditions. Purple Air (AQI, 1-hr average, USEPA conversion factor) is the best way to see what's happening around you

Relation is a recent hire of USEPA. Loves the job - flexibility and opportunities presented often in the first 9 months. She also lasted through 3 possible government shutdowns (!!). The threat of Republican wins in November along with garbage like this bill aren’t helping keep the system running
