The strongest writing relationships and successes have come through SCBWI, WRAD, and social media. I love in person interactions, but the internet has allowed so many more affordable virtual experiences. Zoom author visits are the best! I gain far more than the kids do! #kidlitchat

As a teacher at an independent school, I have been priced out of having authors visit (even virtual) unless it is WRAD. This year I was quoted prices more than the whole department's book budget. I am glad big district and book stores can pay those kind of fees. Authors deserve it.

Is he less of a, ahem, contrarian than Wrad Barner?

Here's a screenshot of your post as it appears in the feed on my dashboard. The feed searches a user's last 50 posts, I think.

A screenshot of two social media posts by children's book authors celebrating World Read Aloud Day (WRAD). The top post by Lee Edward Födi features a collage of images: children sitting on the floor listening to a story, the author holding a book titled 'The Paper Bag Princess' with a surprised expression, and a stack of colorful children's books including 'Spell Sweeper' and 'Kendra Kandlestar'. The bottom post by Mariana Rios shows a snippet of text expressing her enjoyment of WRAD events.

Have been head-down-busy writing a novel that's due Apr 1. It's with CPs right now, so I'm writing a new NF PB and....sharing a pic from the fabulous time I had reading to kids during WRAD! Japan, TX, CA, MN, MD Best question EVER: Have you written any books about why the chicken crossed the road?
