Finished reading Vampire of the Mists. A sad tale about Jander Sunstar and his overall fate in the land of Barovia. Glad to see there are others who oppose the evils of the land besides Van Richten. Wish I could find more Ravenloft novels for I’m in the #preoctoberween mood. 😈

If you could sit down and have a talk with him about it, he would paint himself as the poor victim at every turn (the curse, his history, Barovia, Ravenloft's history) but NEVER weak. It'll seem like a contradiction, but all narcissists contradict themselves as the situation develops. 6/

Everything that has befallen him is his fault, but he will never, ever admit that. He will project onto everyone around him, and rewrite events to his liking. Were he to lash out at an enemy or community in Barovia, he would quickly paint it as something inevitable. 3/

My first character died attempting to zip line out of castle Strahd. Second character is an accidental werewolf/cleric, having being seduced on arrival to Barovia. Today she dismembered vampires and burned them. Like I say, fun!
