The show was lovely. There were a lot of clever jokes, bits, reminiscing, and bluegrass music. But it was all topped by the stupidity of Martin Short doing a full body impersonation of a bagpipe.

I find bluegrass is always older than I think except when it's younger than I think.

I missed Hardly Strictly Bluegrass again. But who wants to be in a crowd in 94° in San Francisco all weekend? I believe she played today.

One of the best gospel bluegrass albums out there too, the cover really makes it the full package.

Big Star "Radio City" 50th anniversary band at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass with Jody Stephens (Big Star), Mike Mills (REM), Pat Sansone (Wilco), Chris Stamey (The dbs) and John Auer (The Posies) rocked today in San Francisco's Golden Gate park. Best free show ever!

If it's Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in San Francisco, that means it's Austin City Limits in Austin--two places I miss very much this time of year!

It's 87 degrees in Golden Gate Park right now, but it's about to get even hotter, because Patti Smith just started playing.

My review of TonyTrischka's excellent Earl Jam is up at fervorcoulee.wordpress.com/2024/10/06/t... With guests a plenty- Billy Strings Molly Tuttle The Gibson Brothers Del McCoury Band Sam Bush a & more- the album celebrates Earl Scruggs and bluegrass music as few albums today do!
