Bottletree and WorkPlay not doing were great because most of the shows I saw where there. The Nick and Zydeco and others still had smoking going. I'd always go to anything I wanted to, but was always pulling for it to be in one of those spots.

That's what ironclad primary source Wikipedia said. 🤣 It probably was earlier, but I remember it passing while Bottletree was still open. Even though they never allowed smoking indoors, they did have to change their outdoor area to comply with the "not within so much distance of a entrance" thing.

»But out here, even the prairie doubts the horizon All I have to do is prove that I'm not pure Oh, the right words come, but I ain't talking The devil's mean but he's honest just as sure Oh, he is honest just as sure« How I wish I saw this show @ BottleTree. youtu.be/KzQPt9e962w#MagnoliaElectricCo

Bottletree used to have it right at the entrance. Birmingham flag is actually good and could be great if they remove the seal

I gave my gamecube and my wii and some other stuff to Brian Teasley when I was in Birmingham (man or astroman, polyphonic spree etc) because he would run vintage video game nights at Bottletree/Saturn. A worthwhile resthome for them.

Near bottletree before that neighborhood got fancy, when it was just punk houses and it was a mistake. Too muggy, too much walking and jostling with a belly full of 64oz of strong dark beer.

I definitely agree with the assessment of Zydeco, but that’s the posted capacity on their site though I agree it seems doubtful. I’ve seen Saturn’s fire code sign and just assumed that’s their running capacity? I had a friend that worked a Bottletree so I’m going on their word on that one.

I think Saturn is 450 and Zydeco is 600. Syndicate was a good bit smaller than Bottletree which, I believe, was 225
