Dioptase (turquoise crystals) and mimetite (yellow crystals).
Conichalcite and celadonite (both are green).
Linarite (blue) on barite.
Hyalite opal (green fluorescence) and lemon opal (yellow fluorescence). No lead or arsenic in either but at least the hyalite may have trace amounts of uranium contributing to the glow.

While fossils are typically brown from silica or black from iron minerals, green is rare because celadonite forms in volcanic or hydrothermal. conditions that typically destroy buried bones. The celadonite entered the fossils when volcanic activity around 50 million to 80 million years ago made it hot enough to replace a previous mineral.

Very belated, but posting these drawings from Drawtober 2022! I'm trying to catch up on posting some art I never got around to sharing, so keep an eye out over the next few days. Celadonite & Waru, owned by Orangeish Sherbert & Shiningamisgirl with a double theme of Latex and Shibari!

Celadonite puts a gag into Waru's mouth. Cela is dressed in a latex corset and heeled boots while Waru is wrapped in shibari ropes. Both are on their knees.

Rock appreciation - amygdaloidal andesite from the Angus coast, telling a story of violent volcanic eruptions that took place over 400 million years ago 🌋🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Landscape photo of a hand palm side up holding an irregularly shaped piece of Devonian andesite. The palm has a cross section of an ammonite tattooed on it. The rock is full of elongated holes (vesicles) which have been infilled with the greenish blue coloured mineral celadonite (amygdules). Around the amygdules are whiteish cream coloured lath shaped phenocrysts of feldspar. The main ground mass (matrix) of the rock is a dark brownish purple colour. The vesicles form when magmas contain dissolved gas. The gas forms bubbles in the magma when the pressure is released on eruption and these bubbles  can end up trapped in the solidified rock. Phenocrysts are formed through different stages of cooling - slow cooling allows larger crystals to form then rapid cooling results in fine-grained ground mass. The amygdules form after the rock has been emplaced, groundwater and/or hydrothermal solutions pass through the rock depositing crystals in the voids which gradually fill up with minerals.
