I'm far from the only person to bemoan the sharp decline in media literacy these days, but something that has always bothered me is the double standard audiences apply to protagonists and supporting charactes when it comes to them acting emotionally.

Imagine If #3: Star Trek / Star Wars is the main one here, but the mash-ups of the various DC live-action characters are fun too. I guess that concept was done (badly) to a degree in the recent Flash movie.
