Andy Ngo put one of my colleagues on the other site on blast because she wrote an article about some ways folks could support LGBTQ communities and abortion access in regions impacted by Helene. Anyway, itā€™s useful info and I trust Bluesky not to be dicks about it.

But there are many and perhaps bigger than eve challenges ahead to a good future for the web. While WF leaves those challenges now for others to pick up - and I only had a few years as part of WF team - I do want to celebrate the work of former colleagues, collaborators & leaders who made WF (4/4)

You gotta give it to @nickbunker.bsky.social and his colleagues. The Indeed job postings continue to provide a great way of tracking the labour market at a higher frequency and in a more timely way than the JOLTS data.

Overleaf and I won't become friends. Colleagues that can work with each other, yes, but not friends. WinEdt is my friend.

Iā€™m a full professor at a large public R1 university and this sentiment is far from ā€œuniversalā€ among my colleagues. It might not even be a majority position.

Sure I make the typicall "can't wait to clock out" comments & special projects kick my ass, but I like my job, I respect my colleagues, my bosses are great leaders & go to bat for us, I get to work remote a ton. Still wish I had those 8-9 hours free to make art instead, but haven't won the lottery.

Itā€™s lovely when that happens- but itā€™s never a given. I struggle to talk for long with most of my ex colleagues.

Which is still weird to me, you know? I'm used to jobs fucking you over. Sure sometimes I'm brain drained during special projects, but I have fun with my colleagues while doing it. They also gave us tons of support during hurricanes, earthquakes, & COVID. Have never stopped getting paid.

This project was a triumph of evidence-based science and academic-policy collaboration. I am enormously thankful to my colleagues at UGA CEID, UKHSA, Gavi, US-CDC, WHO, WHO AFRO, WHO EMRO, BMGF for the opportunity to participate in this work /x

One of my colleagues messaged me with something that needs doing, and my brain decided the correct response was to immediately hit the space bar to pause. That is how hectic my day is. My brain has started to parse it as some kind of management game, or maybe Against the Storm.
