#craftsky#wip 🧶 Stage 1 of the emotional support needlepoint finishing is complete. Going to have to hope that hand-sewn cording will hide a multitude of sins but I think I can pull it off. Both sides shown.

9) I then set up some guides. There's ones that screw into the base base of the machine, and magnetic ones. I'm using both, as the cording is going to want to push the piece away from the needle.

8) Ok back at it, setting up the machine. Starting with getting the needle at the point close to the cording I want. (this is all on my 75 year old Singer 201-K, but the principle is the same on modern machines)

6) after that I then take a wood or bone creaser and get that edge at the cording as tight as possible. I prefer a bone creaser (found in bookmarking supplies) as it's smoother than a wood one, (and heat resistant as compared to plastic ones)

5) I then use some hemming tape to keep the cording centered and close to the edge (overlapping the stitch line slightly) and roll the cover over the cording, matching edges as close as I can.
