I *love* all the trolls and conspiracy theorists crawling out now that Tampa, very narrowly, avoided the horrific levels of storm surge forecast because the storm ended up just 40km down the coast from where it easily could have done.

It's tough being fabulously and unfairly wealthy! I get tired at night and, instead of going home and crawling into bed, I have to decide which of my 20 homes to go home to and which of my 20 beds in that home to sleep in. It's exhausting. I'm asking for your sympathy.

crawling under my desk and scratching intricate designs and unknown symbology into the wood. I find it again years later with no notion of what those symbols meant.

As marine animals, cephalopods live in the water, not on land. But Algae Octopus (Abdopus aculeatus) didn't get the memo, as they will regularly crawl on land to move between tide pools to eat whatever tasty animals might be there. #OCTOtober

An Algae Octopus (Abdopus aculeatus) crawling out of a tide pool on a beach. It is going up a small ledge. It is all shiny and smooth as it leaves the water. It is brown. The beach has wet, dense sand. There are four cone shaped creatures sticking out of the ledge to the octopus's left.
An Algae Octopus (Abdopus aculeatus) moving at night. Its head is up vertically, with its eyes lifted as high as they will go. The mantle its going out horizontal and half inflated, likely in the middle of pushing water out of the siphon, which is visible.. Its arms are long and trailing behind, showing which way the octopus is moving. The octopus is slightly greenish yellow with a whitish bit on the front of its head and mantle. It has small lightly coloured bumps on the arms, and its has its papillae raised. Some papillae, including the long horn like ones above the eyes, are sort of frilly.
An Algae Octopus (Abdopus aculeatus) crawling along the sand on a beach as it goes towards a tide pool. It is all shiny and smooth as it leaves the water. It is brown with white suckers
An Algae Octopus (Abdopus aculeatus) sitting on the seabed in an upright position. Its arms are resting on the ground and its head and mantle are pointing up. It has a white strip going down the centre of its mantle and head down to the top of their centre arms.
