i'm immediately reminded of the time i told my dermatologist that i was concerned i had [arbitrary dermatosis] her immediate response was "oh, well, if you had that, you'd have [symptoms/signs X, Y, and Z]" as it happens, i did fit the criteria; she just never checked nor asked

At my dermatologist appointment this morning I will lie about being in the sun with no shirt on every day from the age of 6.

Yesterday my dermatologist gave the clear: my skin is healing + almost completely recovered after using CeraVe*. Switched to Dr Belter's rosacea skincare products and a good skincare routine. It really helped. *Many don't react to CeraVe's skincare products but I did really badly. It's individual.

The scaly look on my hands (due to my meds) disappeared and I don't even use the lotion every day. The dry patch on my ankle that the dermatologist said might lessen with Rx cream but never disappear is 90% gone.

Friends, sometimes a weird dark mark is NOT cancer, it's just a weird bruise. And my dermatologist thought I had pretty decent skin for someone from my "model year" (I thought it was funny & took no offense.)

First principle of every dermatologist and doctor I've ever talked to--use sunscreen, or a moisturizer with sunscreen (at least 30 spf) every day, rain or shine, cloudy or sunny.

My aunt who lives in Corsica told me that she is seeing the only practicing dermatologist in Bastia today. They are 80 years old. The dermatologist not my aunt. 😳
