He goes to a magnet school which draws from multiple districts. His school is ~70% black so it’s likely more blue than most. It definitely stems from parents, but it’s eye opening how much mainstream pop culture is in elementary schools.

Yeah, all of that is fine, I don't have any particular reason to oppose something like that I don't think (except that I do think law of unintended consequences is an issue re: gerrymandering, like, look what they've done with 99 districts in Wisconsin)

Yes, absolutely! But until Congress passes that bill and the Roberts Court decides that it is within Congress' 1.4 powers to tell the states how to draw districts, expanding the House is an alternative with fewer clear and immediate obstacles to its implementation and enforcement.
Expanding the house is less useless than you make it appear. Though small districts are more easily gerrymandered in some ways, smaller gerrymanders are less durable. Also, districting reform is making headways in many states. Smaller electorate campaigns would be cheaper, committee loads lighter.
