	•	Editing is easier in a quieter space
	•	Editors work independently but benefit from collaboration
	•	Editing is portable
	•	There’s no one way to edit—there’s no right answer
	•	Editor requires judgment
	•	Editing is context dependent
	•	Editing helps to make writing clearer
	•	Editing helps to make writing consistent
	•	Editing helps to make writing concise
	•	Editing helps to make writing correct
	•	editing involves punctuation as well as words
	•	editing brings new ideas forward
	•	editing requires continual learning
	•	editing requires adaptability
	•	editing can happen in any language or multiple languages
	•	proofreading is best done in its final medium
	•	editing creates community
