Star Trek's animated series is incredibly uneven, but they straight up did an episode touching on the ethics of euthanizing a mortally injured pet.
killing billionaires, euthanizing billionaires, making it chic for billionaires to die
euthanizing the .io web is curation
You know how I love weird treaty consequences? The IANA bases TLDs off ISO3166 country codes. If a code stops existing, IN THEORY they follow suit and kill the TLD. Officially this was 'British Indian Ocean Territory'. That's the .io domain everyone loves so much. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
In a historic move, the UK gives up sovereignty of a strategic group of islands in the Indian Ocean.
Definitely. And sometimes unnecessary euthanizing is framed as care, when in fact it's the human who was unwilling to continue caring for a disabled pet. I do also think euthanizing is nevertheless often an act of care, though. There is no hard line, and so that decision can be immensely fraught.
(TW pet loss) does anyone else perceive a lot of popular opinion re 'euthanizing' animals as drenched in ableism? feel like i witness so much "they're old +not getting around as well guess it's time" but ime so often elderly and/or ill animals recover, or learn to manage disability...😞
coworker: it's your Friday right me: yep. him: nice me: if you call out, i hope you're dying because i will be euthanizing you :)
"nooo it's medically valid [insert psychobabble here]" so was "euthanizing" the homosexuals, the asocials, and all the other degenerates. reminder that it was psychiatrists who talked the Reichskanzlei into the Aktion T4. maybe try to understand that psychiatrists aren't any minority's friends.

This case followed the agency’s previous announcement of the first known human clusters of the disease in the US from exposure to infected poultry. These prior cases were linked with 2 different facilities in Colorado where workers were euthanizing diseased birds.
Maybe instead let’s criticize the people dumping the cats. And it says in the flyer that they’re holding them for like a week, not immediately euthanizing them.
