Many years ago - late '80s - I was fortunate to go into the NSW Forestry Commission office in Bega, where they had a library of old seeds below the office. All manner of old and some extinct species that they had preserved. It was great to see what they were doing to preserve them.

Special Weather Statement issued October 6 at 4:04AM CDT by NWS Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN Additional Details Here.

Relative humidity values will drop between 20 and 30 percent,
while northwest winds continue to gust up to 35 mph. The
strongest gusts are forecast to be about 2-3 hours ahead of when
the lowest RH values occur, limiting any periods of critical fire
weather conditions. Given the abundant dry fuels, any fire that
does develop has the potential to spread quickly.

it's not uniform. Eg, the CofE owns at least 60 acres of Savernake Forest but it's managed by the Forestry Commission - no, they don't pay rent - and it's about as "wild" as anywhere in the country. I found the "football fields" thing funny since they own lots of those and other kids' play areas.

South-southwest winds will shift to the west-northwest behind a
cold front moving across Minnesota this afternoon. West-northwest
winds gusting to between 25 and 35 mph with afternoon humidities
falling to between 25 and 35 percent will result in elevated fire
weather conditions across much of central and southern Minnesota.
