Yeah, but my point is a bit different - there are a lot of transit employees who are engineers and designers, but they are used unproductively (to tweak schedules, write constant GOs, etc.). The broader point, I guess, is that *their managers* are not good, leading to low productivity.

Yeah, I don't actually think it is self-enforcing, but I think that, like all elites, GOs care greatly what their peer groups think of them.

Norms are enforced by social pressure. For example, the retired Marine GOs who continue to speak out against the CMC aren't welcome at Marine Corps University.

Keen gear! Since I was so disappointed with yesterday's Panchito, today I challenged myself to do two characters at once. OG Gos looks better than 17, which is a bit of a 'hoo boy' since I plan on drawing 17 way more. Still, not too shabby!
