Helicopters are so cool but also a nightmare to fly. I'll stick to gyroplanes and fixed wing, thanks.

You know, I don't think a vehicle or personal weapon has to be practical to be worth using. Gyroplanes are fun, and building weird firearms to take to a range is an art form. Ekranoplan racing should be a real sport.
