A minha sugestão é: “always default to simplicity”. Começa com um servidor bare metal(DO, hetzner). API HTTP síncrona. Monitora bem. Vai melhorando a medida q vc reconhecer gargalos.

It's interesting that their wiki page has a whole section about unwarranted blocks, most of them russia-related (and all but one quite pro-Putin) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hetzner (I have no idea what's going on here, just googled the name, and got puzzled a bit)
