okay so the counterpoint that's been brought up to the mono idea is that mono has an incubation period of 4-6 weeks which is long enough to work for the brooklyn items but , importantly , way too short to account for someone who was only here for a handful of days and came down with the same bug

Yeah, they're pretty sure it's norovirus. The incubation period was too short for covid and I'm pretty sure they identified patient zero.

The evidence is that the vaccines prevent infection while you have active antibodies. At least as well as the measles vaccine does. The difference is when antibodies Wane protection wanes because the incubation period for covid is 3 days. That's too short for memory cells to fully prevent infections

This isn't inaccurate, but just because it may be relevant to someone--Rabies can have a very long incubation period. If you are exposed to a vector species and somehow don't think about it for a while ... still worth talking to a doctor about it.
