You *might* be thinking of the *really* old SAC. It used to stand for "Splatoon Amateur Circuit". Which was a Lowlevel thing. When it shifted to Midlevel, it became "Splatoon Advanced Circuit", and post-guidelines it's now "Squid Advanced Circuit". SAC has definitely changed over the years
