Who Is Chucho Zarzosa? I dunno but this bargyn bin find looked promising based on the instrumentation.. and that it was autographed by the band members including Chucho on the back cover. So far this swings between West Coast sounding small group jazz ala Shorty Rogers and Latin grooves ala Cal Tjader. And on the opening track, "Bula," Mr. Zarzosa tosses in a Monk-like ploink down the keyboard which felt perfect. Again, I don't know anything about Chucho but I'm enjoying this a bunch.
