TC: I have to say I think there's a problem with the film in that today, it's impossible to look at this character of Cesar and not think of people like Elon Musk.

FFC: Well, have you ever read the Walter Isaacson book on Elon Musk? Isaacson wrote the book on Ben Franklin, on Leonardo da Vinci, on Steve Jobs. He's a wonderful writer. And he wrote a book on Elon Musk. Musk is a total mystery... But the Isaacson book on him is so unlike what Musk is doing today. Musk is... a genius in my book. No doubt about it. And everything he's doing, his motives are not self-aggrandisement. He believes in the human species. And he is afraid that if we don't get to Mars, that it's possible that some stray meteorite is gonna destroy us. And the human being is too valuable, is too wonderful to allow that. Elon Musk is a really good example of everything you're saying is wrong with that idea. But Twelve Against the Gods is not just men. It's Isadora Duncan, it's the prophet Muhammad, it's Catiline...

So you have people ridiculously claiming that Biden is actually powerless and that “the tail is wagging the dog,” as if the US couldn’t stop all of this immediately by stopping weapons shipments. They’d rather project impotence than betray their evil motives: the US *wants* this!

Individuals dislike advantageous inequality (material well-being relative to those worse off) and dislike disadvantageous inequality (material well-being relative to those better off). These two motives drive people’s support for redistribution policies www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...

think the piece is a load of bullshit placed in the nytimes to quash the protest movement, which helped remove biden, created a new generation of antiwar protestors, laid bare the machinations and motives of universities, made cops, legislators, and pundits shit themselves. actually quite effective

Glacial Vergrace Model Number: CMN-046 Height: 180 cm (5’9”) Weight: 100 kg (220 lbs) Power: 6800rp Speed: 8000rp Energy: Solar Energy Gear: Speed Weapon: Glacier Wind Origin: @elementallover02.bsky.social Manufacturer: Tooniversal Studios

Glacial Vergrace was modified to explore the vast frozen land as well as for combat, through an unconventional means of ice skating. Heir to be throned as the Ice Queen of The Frozen Waste, she harbors great pride about her performance.

In life, she was a young ice mage who sought to become royal. Though her family had a hard time in terms of finance in the cold season, as well as the imbalance of the nature we knew of, Vergrace have found a new place to reside in, the royal icy palace lead by The Snow Queen. That is, until Impy decided to kidnap her, mechanized her into a super fighting robot who likes to dance.

Her free will may have been stripped away, but she still likes to dance. Those who questioned her motives would end up with a claim that she's fine. If you're like that blonde girl in blue, then she'd be in a state of surprise that she's unprepared to fight. Very touching, indeed.
Under her helmet is Glacial Vergrace, herself, as if her hairstyle remained the same. After a hard work in performance, she took off her helmet, only to reveal her icy blue hair, as glossy as ice.

Yeah but I don’t want people to think I left because it became unpleasant. For me it is 100% because of what Musk is doing politically and my deep distrust of his tactics and motives.

always be suspicious of those who seek authority over others doubly so if questioning their motives marks you as deserving of having that authority used against you

Was reminded today how much students like being told to question the “truth” of historical sources, primary or secondary. It’s empowering and fun to suss out hidden motives, blind spots, etc (as long as you can justify your conclusions). Actively solving problems, not passively absorbing data.
