Did you know children in Louisiana don't have any language before they go to school? Striking example of how "X-lingual" often exclusively refers to academically acquired languages and disregards the rest - even English in this case. Happy to see that multilingualism is valued and advertised though.

Advertisement for the International School of Louisiana: "Did you know ISL students can become TRILINGUAL by the end of Middle School? ISL offers French and Spanish immersion for K-8 and Mandarin Chinese in Middle School for all students."
