Friday was an enjoyable run/walk over Derry Cairngorm to Ben Macdui from Muir Cottage near Linn of Dee. Need more snow. Still smiling at the surprised response from the guys near Hutchison Memorial Hut when I said that I'd left four and a half hours ago. #hillrunning#munros#trailrunning#running

A green loch on the side of a mountain.
The trig point and summit cairn of Ben Macdui covered in snow.
The summit indicator on Ben Macdui. Ice is covering one side of the plinth.
The Lui rivers seen from Black Bridge. In the distance mountains. Fall colours.

(Contd) Day 2 - Beinn Alligin & Na Rathanan (the horns) While they *look* very intimidating they really are an amazing mountaineering case of ‘bark worse than bite’ and give wonderful easy scrambing! #Scotland#Outdoors#Munros#Scrambling

Looking at Beinn Alligin’s second summit - Sgùrr Mòr - and Na Rathanan (called The Horns (of Alligin) in English)
Looking down a huge gash of a gully framing far hills
Looking north-west over to Skye (on the left) and the Western Isles - Harris and Lewis specifically (in the hazy distance
The wonderful rocky summit ridge of the first Rathan (or Horn as they labelled in English - think pinnacle!)

There are 282 munros in Scotland, mountains >= 3000ft/914m and when you reach a certain life stage, many people feel the need to start munro bagging (climb them all). It's a lovely way to see the country for those of us who like completing a list. #Hikingwww.walkhighlands.co.uk/munros/

On 23rd March 2020 I fled the office, scarpered to my kitchen table and sat down on my kitchen chair. I pledged to get an office chair sorted "soon". Reader, today I got my office chair. It's been 84 years.

A comfy swivelly black office chair, with an uncomfortable kitchen chair now discarded behind it. There is a Munros wallchart above a radiator, and a tiny segment of a Euro 2024 wallchart.

Tremendous photies. My mate’s compleation was on An Teallach. Lovely day at the bottom. Nearly blown to Ireland from the top! So the pinnacles went out the window, just the two Munros.
