Well that fired up a couple of rusty old neurons in my brain that I thought would never be activated again.

That Judy take makes the neurons rumble happy.

Y'know what peeves me purdy good? Dumbfucks complaining that a kid uses a tablet for entertainment. Like, bitch, you were probably from the generation that sat in front of a TV completely zoned out, shut the fuck up. Least the kid is firing neurons.

There will be unknowable benefits beyond flies, no doubt. Apropos: one could flippantly dismiss most of the Allen Institute’s transformative work as ‘just in mice’ but this has seeded ideas, tech, predictions for new discoveries about human neurons

The FlyWire connectome: neuronal wiring diagram of a complete fly brain #oldaily https://www.downes.ca/post/77096 The whole world is gushing over work released this week in Nature of the complete fruit fly connectome (that is, the complete set of neurons and connections in the fruit fly brain).

Ay, vibe alignment! Very nice! (Fun fact: the phrase "grass type aesthetics" hit me with a neural activation. Neurons responded with thoughts of Sylvanos, with Pi's design flair. I hope I'm not misremembering; that style-design match would Work.)

I have to wonder how powerful of a computer would be needed to simulate all the neurons firing. Can we put this brain into a robot or a simulated environment? Do we need the rest of the nervous system to actually simulate what a fly would do?
