The situation in Palestine is getting worse every day. Just two days after Israel was ordered by the International Court of Justice to cease all operations in Rafah, the Israeli military bombs Rafah and burns the displaced population alive in their tents. And while we demonstrate against this unimaginable violence, we are subjected to massive police violence and criminalised, as we were able to witness with the brutal eviction of the Jabalia Institute at the HU. Even though the institute no longer physically exists, it still exists within us. What does it say about our humanity that it is NORMAL?! to see burned children and that the media tries to legitimize this? What humanity do we have left in us then? Every single university and hospital in Gaza has been bombed by Israel, how can the ASH train people for the healthcare and educational sector without condemning it? How the hell can the daily university life just go on as normal?
Meanwhile, the ASH university management is taking a one-sided stance, which has been made clear by various statements in e-mails sent to the students, the racist posters against anti-Semitism in the university building and the censorship of Palestinian voices at so-called ‘dialogue events’. We will not be intimidated. We will also set an example at ASH against genocide and against Germany's complicity! We are campaigning for an immediate ceasefire and against the military occupation and apartheid by the Israeli state. Therefore we want to mourn together with you and be loud. We call on all ASH students and staff to join our protest on June 5 at 1 pm in front of the Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences in Hellersdorf! Not in our Name
