Totally. And it’s because this is a key example of #obstructionism. It is a tactic created not to solve a problem, but to make it impossible for *you* to solve the problem. This is about voter suppression (can’t be making politics accessible) and intimidation against everyday community activism.
Absolutely this. People who don’t live in overt obstructionism don’t realize that these laws get proposed and passed specifically so that conservatives have simple and direct ways to interrupt, obstruct, and frame community activism.
Biden managed quite extraordinarily to overcome Congressional obstructionism by ordinary negotiation. he was unwilling to mint the coin, still somehow negotiated past the “ransom” Rs demanded for the debt ceiling, got the rescue plan, CHIPs, IRA, and infrastructure through Congress. wow.
Flip side to this: Maybe Humana's obstructionism was what saved R. They blocked every attempt to get appropriate treatment for her. But I didn't accept that. Financially, dropping Humana was a horrible decision. But ethics, morals, love, humanity guided my choice, and it was the right one.

We should neither forget nor forgive the so-called "liberal media"'s role in normalizing Republican obstructionism.
This is a good point that I didn't really consider to be honest. Why the hell should we be applauding "realist" proposals when republican obstructionism means they won't get accomplished either?
Complaining about "gridlock" would be a bit rich because I don't think gridlock is inherently bad. I hope what she meant is, brainless obstructionism (because the other side proposed it) or evil partisan games (like the stunt Trump pulled with the immigration bill).
Translation: "if the filibuster goes, all the political obstructionism that made me a household word will evaporate and the democratic process will be the only way to govern".
