The 14thC easter sepulchre at St Peter's, Sibthorpe is an amazing and wonderful survival. Christ emerges at the top announced by two censing angels, four knights slumber at the base in ogee topped niches at the base (the colour dates from the 19thC restoration)

Footed Dish: silver. Oval concave dish rests on a plain oval ogee foot. The dish is elaborately repoussed around a central oval void containing the initials in script: MLB. Surrounding this is an area of layered pointed petal forms. Followed by an area of broad volutes, most engraved with dense abstract pattern. The volutes rest on a diaper ground. At each end of the dish, volutes surround layered feathers with scrolling acanthus foliage above. At each long side, volutes surround areas of densely packed blossoms. The dish has a beaded rim broken on each long side by a c-shaped cartouche, containing abstract shell forms, rising above the rim, and terminating on each short side with small opposed c-scrolls.
