I miss the days of the #oppositelock tag.

I wrote up a bunch of advice on archiving your work in an industry group over lunch only to notice that OppositeLock had a very appropriate final tagline that still shows up when Facebook pulls a link card. Vaya con peeballs, amigos.

Link card for oppositelock.kinja.com:

"Oppositelock | The Pee Is Stored In The Balls!"

I went from some guy posting on OppositeLock to a staff writer for Road & Track in like three years. Maybe two? I've had a few beers and am very bad at math.

my opinions on cars have clearly changed drastically since my oppositelock days because I just saw someone call a 25 year old full size sedan with a big V8 and a manual a "perfect daily driver" and my first thought was "for who!?" i guess if your commute is 40 miles of highway in light traffic?

Building and maintaining that loyal reader community was one of my favorite parts about working for Jez's sister-site Jalopnik. Hell, I keep in touch with those weirdos today, and re-found a lot of them in the Autopian and Defector comments. It's where I came from, after all. OppositeLock 4ever.

That one was fun too! If my username didn't give it away, when I wasn't on Jezebel/Groupthink, I was lurking on oppositelock, but I dropped off there too when I went to twitter. This thread has been a trip down memory lane haha

me either. if you use deck dot blue, you can create a custom search feed that shows posts by users that include specific terms. There are surprisingly a lot of #oppositelock / oppolock posters one here, including jalopnik alumni like stef and miss mercedes..
