an Ozone Action Day for the Dallas-Fort Worth area for Thursday,
October 3, 2024.

Atmospheric conditions are expected to be favorable for producing
high levels of ozone air pollution in the Dallas-Fort Worth area
on Thursday. You can help prevent ozone pollution by sharing a
ride, walking, riding a bicycle, taking your lunch to work,
avoiding drive-through lanes, conserving energy, and keeping your
vehicle properly tuned.

WHAT...Air Quality Alert for Wildfire Smoke.

WHERE...Sheridan County, Wyoming.

WHEN...Through 1 PM Thursday October 3rd

IMPACTS...Heavy smoke from the Elk Fire in the northern Bighorn
Mountains.

HEALTH INFORMATION...The Wyoming Department of Health recommends the
elderly, young children, and individuals with respiratory problems
avoid excessive physical exertion and minimize outdoor activities
during this time. Wildfire smoke is made up of a variety of
pollutants, including particulate matter and ozone, which can cause
respiratory health effects. Although these people are most
susceptible to health impacts, the Department of Health also advises
that everyone should avoid prolonged exposure to poor air quality
conditions.

CURRENT CONDITIONS...The Wyoming Department of Environmental
Quality, Air Quality Division offers near real-time air quality data
for Wyoming's monitoring stations and health effects information to
help the public interpret current conditions. Current air quality

And then there was the ozone layer.... when the planet collectively said "HOLY SHIT, THIS IS VERY BAD AND WILL GET MUCH MUCH WORSE IF WE DON'T DO SOMETHING!" and then did something. We can put people on the moon. We certainly can fix our planet if we try. (And pry control away from billionaires.)
