Materialism asserts that everything is matter. There is undoubtedly consciousness. According to materialism, this is matter, and since consciousness is matter, consciousness and matter are essentially nothing different. Is materialism, strictly speaking, ultimately a confirmation of panpsychism?

Have you heard of panpsychism? Theoretically, if we're looking for *where* consciousness could reside without dualism, then atoms themselves may contain a tiny amount, which becomes more complex as atoms join together. It accounts for all animals being sentient but implies that rocks are, too.

PS: my issue with panpsychism, for instance, is not its lack of refutability but that is does not give us ANY good questions.
