A regional park in our foothills has about a dozen Indian peafowls! I’ve seen small birds take a dust bath before, but never from a bird this large! Birds take dust baths to rid their feathers of mites and other parasites
(Chants of Sennaar spoilers ahead! #chantsofsennaar#chantsofsennaarspoilers) Chants of Sennaar except they're all birds (for symbolism but also I just really wanted to sketch some bird people). Squawks of Sennaar, I guess?
awa Haven't been making renders of this guy lately, but I have been practicing drawing them (nothing worth sharing yet)
Peafowl 100%. They love to scratch cars while staring at themselves in the window and they're loud as hell, but they will not kill 2 or 3 billion birds and like 10 billion mammals this year.
This is a great example because peafowl are common park birds, so lots of non-specialists have seen peachicks and know what they look like. But many other birds, and certainly most fish and insects, are more obscure.
