I read a convincing case years ago that intersectional feminist thought, & poststructuralism in general, never made much headway in British universities, leaving a crude Second Wave essentialist understanding of gender as the dominant paradigm. Third Wave too American, poststructuralism too French?
I’ll say this about the modern conservative movement: it has done more work to demonstrate feminist poststructuralism than anything Judith Butler or Monica Wittig ever wrote.
