Zero traffic enforcement has made my quiet street a racetrack, and resulted in A LOT of pedestrian and bicyclist deaths. People who routinely break speed / safety rules should have some possibility of a ticket.
The way we build trucks is one side - the way we build roads is the other. A 90 foot wide racetrack with no curbing or median is uninhabitable by pedestrians or cyclists. No one would want a giant truck in a neighborhood with narrow curbed streets with dedicated bike lanes and sidewalks.
