BLUE

Every time Katie tells me how boring the beach is, I can't help but marvel at how wrong she is with so much life to be found

I should not have caught this guy(I didn't know till after) ; california sculpin also known as a Scorpionfish (i thought they were different) but luckily, it didn't break skin
Purple Ochre Star in a tidepool surrounded by Starburst anenomes and california mussels

I used to think that way, but after a decade+ of being married to a dr. of ecology, I've seen her taste random mushrooms in the woods (it's probably an oyster!) and handle all manner of sea creatures with bare hands while diving (It's called a scorpionfish, FFS). Scientists just be like that.

the beauty of practicing reading with weird nerd manga like this is you learn a lot of obscure terms. like i know what they call a scorpionfish in both "standard" japanese (カサゴ) and kumamoto-ben (ガラカブ) now. or ちょい投げ釣り which i don't even know the english or dutch term for. near surf fishing?
