I’ve had satellites appear in numerous #Seestar images. Tracking programs have verified the satellite times and trajectories. Variable stars follow the correct lite curves. Seems like a lot of work to simulate these effects.

For as impressive for what it is, there is one weakness to the Seestar, like most small scopes - planets. Enough to make Saturn distinguishable by shape, but that's about it.

Question for anyone with a Seestar. How do we know the device is gathering visual data in realtime instead of adding stored/online data to an initial image? I haven't seen this question addressed, and, with all due respect, am skeptical in this current tech moment. #seestar

We're celebrating 100 Hours of Astronomy at the moment (around the world people are invited to look up at the stars) but since it's a bright day we've been sitting out with coffee and the SeeStar showing passers-by how the sun looks today, with quite a few dramatic sunspots. #100Hours#Astronomy

A large orange circle fills the screen. To the right and left sides are scattered dark speckles.

The Veil Nebula in 5 minute snaps with the Seestar.. Needs several shots because its 3 degrees across... First up, N6960. The bright star is 52 Cygni.

The Eastern Veil nebula, a long vertical lacy streak.

Maybe an internal glitch in Bsky? It opens for me - but I don't see any posts newer than 6 days. Which is weird, as it's set for only 3 days. Let's see if this goes in - #Seestar

I finally invested in Pixinsight and wow, it’s pretty incredible. Amazing to think this was taken with a $500 smart telescope that some people want to call nothing but a toy. I think it’s super fun to push it to the limits of what it is capable of doing! #astrophotography#seestar

Seestar. 1500 ten-second exposures. I use Pixinsight to process it but I'm still learning.

I added some more data to clean this up a bit: 3 hour mosaic of the Eastern Veil Nebula #Seestar 🔭 Processing: Siril, GraXpert, GIMP

So here are the two images again. See how many of the same structures you can spot, dark in the visible-light image and bright (thermal glow) in the far-infrared image! 4/

Two images of the Andromeda galaxy one above the other. The top image is in visible light; it's the one I created from images taken with my Seestar S50. The bottom image is in far-infrared light, by ESA's Herschel Space Observatory.
