The first one is. The sequels are poor.

The struggle is so real that even movie studios struggle to make effective sequels to Alien. Only Aliens really succeeds, mostly because it’s more of a war/action movie than a horror film.

Back then they say the sequels sucked. But with lots of time since. Those sequels (not so much The Dream Child) are much better now than then. I always loved the sequels (Not much for The Dream Child, that ones just meh. although the kill scenes were hilarious, best parts)

on the bright side, you've still got 2/3 of the Kharkanas prequels and 1/4 of the Witness sequels (with the next two coming relatively soon) to look forward to! besides, the first readthrough is really just the prologue for the *actual* series (which is your first reread)

imo Gaylen Ross and Lori Cardille in the first two “Dead” sequels were more plausible heroes (“Night” ‘90 making Barbara change from wallflower into Rambo has never been that convincing to me).

Seen the movie “the Purge” and its sequels? Things really did not end well in all of them.

Okay, I'm joking here. But in all seriousness? Fuck AI, fuck how the techbros are currently implementing AI, fuck Roko, fuck his basilisk, and fuck his low-rent shitty sequel to Pascal's Wager that, like so many modern sequels, no one ever fucking asked for or fucking wanted.

I guess this is not a positive per se, but what came to mind was the first time reading His Dark Materials. The sequels weren't out yet which meant waiting on massive cliffhangers in real time

The most "WE REALLY DIDN'T EXPECT TO MAKE SEQUELS" shit ever...
