It's really difficult to simulate switches in electrical computer simulations. You either have to assume they're permanently connected, in which case you have a really high resistance and voltage bleeds through the switched side and you get funky behaviour with logic on the dead side OR...
It has no motivation, it has no intelligence, it has no ability to reason. It has a sequence of guesses that simulate those things with no ability to consciously evaluate them. Even with human rating inputs for evaluation, it just evaluates itself with another guessing machine.
OK, so, I asked ChatGPT: "Simulate a group chat between Jesus' twelve disciples from just before the last supper to a few days after the resurrection." It picked the group name "The Twelve + Jesus." It's what you might expect but the last entry is priceless:
A novel modelling framework to simulate the effects of HIV stigma on HIV transmission dynamics www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2024.10.01.24314728v1
Introduction HIV remains a global public health challenge, with social determinants such as stigma i
This is both a hell of an accomplishment, and also illustrative of how stupid complicated a brain is. It took THIS LONG to simulate the entire brain ... of a fly. A brain that is smaller than all of the glands INSIDE OF the human brain.
The fruit fly brain has 140,000 neurons and nearly 500 feet of wiring. Here’s my story about how scientists have drawn its map—the first complete map of any complex adult brain. Gift link: nyti.ms/4gR4kx0 🧪
Scientists have mapped out how 140,000 neurons are wired in the brain of the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster.
Top British culture tip: simulate a late-70s / early-80s Sunday afternoon by pretending there's an unplanned ten minute gap in the TV schedule and watching a beautifully-drawn Eastern European cartoon. Seriously, Zagreb Film's YouTube channel is an absolute joy. youtu.be/hYwwJYhx7p0?...

I'm interested in VR for one reason - I'm stuck sequestering from society out of kindness to my health and I'd love to be able to simulate going for walks -, but haven't financially committed due to a combination of living on fixed income and the software in question not being available for Mac yet.
dokkie135.itch.io Something vastly different today: I developed a game for a university course called "Anxiety Quest" in RPG Maker MV. It's a game that uses RPG elements to simulate living with social anxiety. If you have a spare hour, maybe you would like to try it out :D Also playable in browser!
ICE has secretly trained civilians to use firearms, conduct surveillance, and simulate raids on immigrants. New revelations show this controversial program has been ongoing in over a dozen U.S. cities. documentedny.com/2024/10/01/i...
