Yeah it's just that I'm not a fan of smoothening over pixel detail with upscaling routines. I feel like stuff like the 2xSAI filter for emulators ruins the appeal of pixel art, at least personally.
they also sacrifice a light amount of quality for smoothness with dynamic motions, which i also really like! totally beats that algorithmic smoothening BS i will have to find some good examples but idk what to choose from between Di Gi Charat and Galaxy Angel haha
I always struggle to choose! The smoothening is pretty & artistic, of course, and gives an air of calm and peace and soothing, but I can't help loving the immediacy of the fast exposure, which is none of those things! I think on balance I prefer to see things as they really are 🤩👌
@nostupidquestions Why do people like crt shaders in the retroarch community. There's so many videos about it. Is it a product of their time or are non-crt experiencers doing it? Maybe it's a way for their smoothening upscaling shaders to look more pixelated and retro?

or you can get the magic shave cream in a tube, which is a little more tingly than the powder but does an equally amazing job of smoothening.
I cannot IMAGINE trying to play this without being able to read it Also yeah it really really really needed that 3DS smoothening, but I'm hoping we get an actual remake after the inevitable DQ4 one. It's the most ambitious DQ by far and now orphaned on two dead systems.
