Aside from old SNES games I had growing up, I think FF8 was one of the first games I sat down and sunk hours upon hours into as a child to complete. The music, the story, the characters and the gorgeous locations and art styles will stick with me forever. Squall > Cloud you can't change my mind.
6. Final Fantasy VIII The ps1 era of FF means a lot to me, but FF8 stands to this day, ad my favorite in the series (minus 14). The magic military school plot, focus on romance & magic, and hot, edgy protag. I was eating it up in my youth. Squall remains one of the few protagonists on my favs list
Fingers crossed! Poor 8 didn't get the chance to breathe on its own due to the popularity of 7. It would be nice if Squall and the gang got more spotlight aside from Kingdom Hearts.
Every so often I remember this artwork of Squall as a rapper that I found in a GamePro magazine and stare into space for a while, until my eyes go out of focus. It haunts me.
Final Fantasy 8 has a lot of memories for me. I grew up watching my mom play it (and also suffered the worst grounding I've ever had after I accidentally saved over her end-game file..). To me, 8 was everything people kept saying 7 was.
I love Final Fantasy VIII. Sure I'm not to fond of GF, but everything is great. Love Squall, Rinoa and the others. FFVIII deserves better treatment.
