The Conservative Party have nothing to be proud of, they achieved nothing in 14yrs of government except record levels of corruption, soaring costs, sewage in our rivers & coastlines & the destruction of our services & standards. They wrecked the U.K. & blamed it all on various scapegoats.

The Excitements by CJ Wray - the audiobook is really delicious too, if that's your jam. (Part of the thriller plot is about unraveling a mysterious betrayal in a French Resistance cell, so it's not sadness-free, but pretty ungraphic by genre standards.)
