Tory donations since July - 1. Robert Jenrick - £425k 2. Kemi Badenoch - £204k 3. James Cleverly - £150k They think we are stupid! www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...
Just days after The Mirror reported that James Cleverly took his wife to Wimbledon and denied she was there, we can reveal he did the same for the Women's World Cup final in Sydney
This week’s excellent video from Rob Groves (@truthtopower.bsky.social) has a look at what happened during the recent Conservative conference which quietened the streets around Birmingham as sensible people stayed away. A pointless pageant of Tory leadership hopefuls disguised as a “beauty contest”.
A lot of them did. We had a long discussion of this in the 2019 election book, where sources who knew him well listed out his flaws, which were widely known within the Tory party before they made him leader. His positives (which were also substantial) were felt to make the risks worth it.
its almost as if you won because people were sick of 20 years of Tory fuckstains and not because you were political geniuses huh fellas
Keir Starmer has been forced to conduct his first 'reset' after barely three months in power, replacing his chief of staff and drafting in a new comms team.
Remember the outrage in the Tory press when the DPM wore this suit going into No 10 after the election? Next scandal - a new collar for Larry the Cat?
Of course there’s a plan, they set it out in the manifesto. It’s not exactly secret! The current media frenzy is because Labour said they won’t announce spending plans until OBR have checked things out, & because they’ve had to do immediate spending review due to Tory incompetence. It takes time!
Ngl the Tory strategy of focusing help only on supporters wins them votes...
yes i know and I think that is why they won the "bike tory" vote in Waveney Valley and North Herefordshire. But it's clear that Carla Denyer et al don't particularly enjoy being outflanked by Ed Miliband on clean energy. I am aware they want to ban HS2 I have had a Green MP for many years.
Tbf my previous Tory MP didn't hold in-person surgeries and didn't answer mail either. He only dealt with supporters. I loaned my new Labour MP my vote this time only. Let's see if he's any better...
The communication around restoring HS2 at Euston feels like an example of them missing opportunities here. Sunak/Hunt's decision was frankly moronic, they sensibly reversed it, but reversed it as a pseudo-unconfirmed leak to the lobby instead of a "we are reversing Tory failure!" press conference
