Fair enough! I still think pressure on those MPs from the other direction - assuming BJ's still PM at that point - is also intense. Even if they'd agreed he'd deliberately/ recklessly misled Parlt (& I still think a chance they wouldn't), much less likely to agree a sanction that triggered recall?

That was a poor decision, but it came about due to a poor system. If it wasn't all on one person there could have been debate, maybe someone at a lower level could have triggered it without even needing the O'toole involved. Why should she need to be available 24/7 for an essentially routine thing?
