Which IIRC was a development of the gen 1 (gen2) Urenco design. Evolved 1960s/70s tech. Is it as efficient as a modern design, surely not, but does that matter? An achievable technology that gets the job done is frequently more valuable than a development project. Its worked for Iran, Pak, DPRK.

Going thru Nuclear Museum’s webpage (I forgot to archive & transcribe in summer 😑)… …reminded (of many things) that one of the “energy exhibits” is sponsored by Thorium Energy Alliance. Another by URENCO. Another by PNM. Etc. “industry showroom” is what one staff member called that section

Urenco*. Like maybe yes they would do better going way simpler, but also... I'm still not convinced. I'm not sure any design would have given them an easy path into the market, which I view as the larger issue at hand

Not the same firm but a very similar name. The Cheshire one is Urenco. The Boris one is entangled with very dubious characters. My point was that the State has no control inside Freeports, which might as well be pirate kingdoms. Urenco has been criticised over safety concerns.

"The best alternative to a dangerous proliferation of national [enrichment] programs would be a multinational consortium such as a URENCO for the Middle East."🤔
