"he's on a zoom call" pedestrian. normal. boring. "he's got the zoomies" exciting, modern, high energy.

Our Armarkat B7801 is 10 years old (to the day, actually) and holding up well. Our cats are 10, 12, 14-18, and 18 lb weegie mixes. The one that's always been big is a VIGOROUS BOY. It's not the most aesthetic -- it doesn't always live in the dining room -- but it's served this crowd admirably.

A large cream colored fleece and sisal cat tree. It's about 78 x 30 x 30" in total. A 10-pound shortie tortie scratches at the lower-right leg of the tree, reaching up to about 24 inches. The sisal is worn on the bottom and topmost pillars, but not unraveling. The fleece is not visibly frayed. Some cat hair is matted on the front edges.

Skipping levels no one uses, a platform projects out from the front around the 36" mark. Above it, there's a condo box around 42 inches. From there, two pillars project upwards to 65 and 75 inches, and on top of each one, a low-walled pentagonal platform is attached by one bolt. It's not visible in this image, but the top platforms do have to be tightened periodically.

The scene is the corner of a dining room with the drapes tied up and carpet ripped out. A scratcher, an empty clothing rack, and some large boxes sit to the right of the cat tree.
In front of the cat tree, a 12-pound orange longhair cat addresses a 33" tall scratcher, because I put a kibble bribe on top of it. He's in a fairly relaxed standing position, and his hands reach a couple of inches below the post cap. The sisal carpet surface of the scratcher is slightly worn around the top and midpoint.
Two 18 pound cats occupy the top platforms of the cat tree in a different room. On top, a dark orange fills the platform like a high-rising loaf of bread, with the end of his tail drooping over the open edge. Second from the top, an orange-and-white overspills the platform on all sides, head lolling upside down with a deranged expression.

The top brother is a walking hassock that can decide to stand up and jab you in the ribs; the bottom one is more of a high-velocity cinderblock with delicate feelings.
Continued from the previous image, the orange-and-white cat has decided to bite the dark orange one in the ass. This is what the tree has to put up with. The two spindly platforms have hosted ten years of vertical zoomies and inane fights between these enormous nitwits.

Anyway, orange has shifted to his side and is still fully contained, while creamsicle's butt and legs hang off somewhat. The orange never falls, and the other only falls when he's doing something MUCH stupider than this.
