Thanks for pointing this out. It would be great to understand more about this difference in ability to shift/reduce dependent on household income. Off for a Google... Any pointers as to where to look gratefully received...

And cost of fuel for vehicles. AA/ RAC seem to be constantly stating that Petrol/ diesel should be lower. Also high price of EV fast charge network is a problem.

They need an active regulator and fines for poor performance.

Cap gas and electric standing charges so it doesn't cost over £300 a year before using any energy at all.

Definitely a product range to keep an eye on.

That's €700 installed BTW. Solar hot water tank cost €1000 installed. Split A/C units can run almost silently.

Yes I have seen them in Europe. Good solution. In southern Spain, solar thermal with resistance heating backup works very well. Hardly ever need the backup so heat pump for hot water would never show an ROI. Cheap €700split A/C units one per room provide heat In winter, cool in summer.

Thanks Looks like a very interesting solution. My preference though is to keep units separate as it keeps units separate so if one develops a fault the others keep working. Also, when they need replacing it's less of a capital outlay to do one at a time.

Ah I remember the old bathroom gas water heater... What about a hot water cylinder with integrated heat pump. I think Dimplex do one ? Saves the gas standing charge.
