Of course, the most important reason for hiking at William O'Brien State Park is the trip afterwards to get burgers, root beer, and sweet potato fries at the Drive In at Taylor's Falls! #Huskies DogsOfMastodon

Two huskies in the middle seat of a car sit with focused attention at an orange sweet potato fry that is being held by the driver on the right, while the passenger on the left takes a selfie of the whole group. A bright shaft of light from the sunlight cuts across the left husky's muzzle and eyes, and the ears of the one on the right.
The same huskies and humans from the previous photo, but in this one, the husky on the right has got the fry, which is balanced on the tip of his tongue for a moment as he proceeds to devour it.
Again, the two huskies focused on food. This time the driver is holding the fry at the very tip of the nose of the left husky, who is straining up towards it. Meanwhile, the husky on the right is peering intently down at something on the armrest between the front passengers.

Zeena, caught mid-shake, and/or mid-transformation into an opossum, it would seem!

Some more picturesque shots that the camera didn't completely fail to disappoint with.

A landscape composition of horizontal bands. The lower half is a prairie foreground in deep shade, but tall grass topped with fuzzy seed heads shine in the low light. Reddish grass beyond forms even horizontal rows of maroon and beige where the rising sunlight over the trees causes the farthest grass to shine. Above that, on the horizon, green deciduous trees rise in front of a cloudless blue sky.
A cluster of yellow daisies with dark centers sits in a bright beam of sunlight surrounded by grasses and other plants in the dark shade of the trees above and out of sight. Tall slender grasses with fuzzy seed heads at the tip stand all around, some also shining in sunlight, bending slightly to the left and right.

Zeena and Tonttu of course were loving all of it! This is the new highlight of their week.

Huskies Zeena and Tonttu approach the camera obliquely, but with authority, heading slightly to the left, across a shady suburban lawn. Elderly white husky Daisy monitors the situation in the background.
Tonttu heads alertly and with great focus towards something behind and to the left of the viewer. He is caught in a bright sun beam, front left paw up, tail curled over his back, ears and eyes alert on what is ahead.
Tonttu is set upon by a trio of other huskies. He's lying on his side, muzzle pointed upwards, mouth open, showcasing an inverted arch of white teeth on the inside of his upper muzzle. It might look vicious, but it's husky play, and Tonttu loves it!

Daisy, the white elder of the group, was happy to remind the world of her existence and authority over the situation. Archie, the reddish lovable ball of fluff, enjoyed playing with dogs and humans alike.

Charlie was his usual fluffy, feathery handsome self!

A feathery husky, mostly black with white legs, tail and other accents, runs, open mouthed and tongue out in a content grin from left to right, side eye at the camera.
