I think it's really cool to see how many people show up for your events in non-English-speaking countries. It speaks to how the love of a good story is universal, regardless of the language it's in. Another sign that there's more that we have in common than the differences on the surface.

Unfortunately lots of stuff gets optioned without being made. I'm pretty sure @scalzi.com once said he had something optioned because a studio had something similar in development, and wanted to prevent anyone from using his to make a competing film. I do know Terry Pratchett says he wouldn't...
