It particularly drives me mad when they claim AI allows disabled people into the industry...a large % of the arts industry (like me) ARE disabled, and work as freelance creatives in large part because we aren't accommodated in 'regular' work environments. AI is taking away our only available income.

I hope someone lets her know that laziness isn't a disability

Yup. I am disabled. AI took away my steady transcription job that had been paying the bills for years. I am drowning as a result, trying to get a freelance creative career off the ground, and it’s just wonderful seeing people say AI should take that over too.

I fucking HATE people who use us as some gotcha. Someone shat out an AI depiction of an amputee artist with "how you gonna tell someone to pick up a pencil when they don't have arms" Her prosthetics were certainly a choice and looked like some devotees wet dream. Also I know congenital-

genAI apologists co-opting disability language infuriates me. Mentioning accessibility is not a magic wand to wave over bad takes to validate them!! 😡

AI could help with people who can’t speak and such. I‘ve seen some cool innovations into that direction but art wise it’s just ridiculous. Art is such a different and personal thing…it not just IS. It’s a tool to express YOURSELF and it’s important and special because of that.
