My uncle had a nickname that stuck so hard that when I saw something with his given name on it, I thought my dad had ANOTHER BROTHER that had like died tragically & we just didn’t talk about it 😂 I remember my prayers every night included Uncle Pogo, not Uncle John 😂

I guess this is why faith exists. It’s just so hard to walk out of the smoldering ruins of yourself into a world that isn’t on fire - you smell smoke damn near everywhere, sure a new fire has been born.
I keep telling myself that I wouldn’t be helped through this marathon just to be dumped an inch from the finish line (and there’s no finish line,, no end point to the journey) but also, wouldn’t that just be fitting?
